Vijayawada: Inmates of Orphan Deprived Hostel for girls being run by Vasavya Mahila Mandali here vied with students of 24 schools and won first prize in dance competition and third prize in running competitions organised by the Municipal Corporation of Vijayawada.
In the drawing competition organised by Round Table Club, an inmate of the hostel Vijayalakshmi won the second prize. Vasavya Mahila Mandali president Chennupati Vidya said the children should be encouraged to take part in competitions no matter whether they win the award or not.
