Ongole: As part of the ‘Childline se Dosti’, a weeklong programme is being organised by the Childline 1098 to create awareness on child rights, trafficking among the public.
On Friday, the Ongole Childline conducted a train raid with police personnel, child welfare department officials between Kavali and Chirala railway stations. The raid is aimed at rescuing begging children and creating awareness among train passengers on child rights and child protection issues.
Ongole station master Robinson flagged off the one day campaign while Anurag, inspector of police, RPF, and T Srinivas Kumar, inspector of police, GRP, also participated in the programme.
The Childline staff and police personnel participated in the drive and covered the areas where begging and child labour issues prevail high and created awareness among public.
