Liquor business to touch 20 cr

Visakhapatnam: Sankranti holds a special place among the festivals for Telugus with celebrations lasting for three days. Bhogi is celebrated on the first day, Makara Sankranti on the second followed by Kanuma on the third day which provides a grand finale for the celebrations with non-vegetarian dishes and consumption of liquor.

There are 154 wine shops and 114 bars in the city. Traders predicted that people may consume 1.5 lakh kgs of chicken and estimated Rs 20 crore liquor business for the three-day Sankranti fete.
