Visakhapatnam: On the second day of the international conference on ‘Innovation, incubation and industrialisation’ here on Thursday, the focus was on the role of industries in recycling the waste products.

The Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India is conducting the event to promote women entrepreneurship in association with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and South Asian Women Development Forum.

On the second day, a women entrepreneur Vairuchutae from Fiji hogged the limelight by delivering a speech narrating her 30 years of experience and techniques in recycling the garbage collected from food processing units , e-Waste and textiles.

In her speech, K Rama Devi, chairperson of ALEAP, said that young enthusiastic entrepreneurs, who want to start new industries with pollution free concepts, should be given priority in setting up of industries at the trade centre which was going to be established later at Giddajala.

She thanked the speakers, who shared their experiences and ideas with the women entrepreneurs, and who created awareness on the technologies and opportunities available in the recycling industry.

Lina Basanthi, founder of Apna Bhoomi e-Waste management services provider from Srikakulam, said that they were facing financial crisis as they were functioning from a rented space and requested ALEAP to provide a place for industry in the upcoming trade centre. She said that she had learnt some new techniques through this international conference, she added.
