Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB) has continued the tradition of organising a book festival in the temple city for 12th time in a row. The annual event inaugurated by the Deputy Speaker of AP Legislative Assembly Mandali Buddha Prasad here on Saturday. It has over 80 stalls with books in several languages and subjects which were kept on display giving a feast to the book lovers.

The annual event inaugurated by the Deputy Speaker of AP Legislative Assembly Mandali Buddha Prasad here on Saturday. It has over 80 stalls with books in several languages and subjects which were kept on display giving a feast to the book lovers.

Renowned publications like EMESCO, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and others have opened their stalls in the expo. The 9-day festival concludes on February 11 and will be kept open from 1 pm to 9 pm on week days and on Sundays it will be opened from 12 noon. Before the inauguration, a procession was held by placing the ithihasas like Ramayana and Bhagavatam in a palanquin to the venue.
Renowned scholar Dr Medasani Mohan, BVB Treasurer and Book festival convener Dr Nadimpalli Satyanaryana Raju and others took part. Besides, cultural programmes will be organised every evening along with competitions for students. After the inauguration, the dignitaries went around the stalls to see the books.
