Visakhapatnam: Devotees faced shortage of laddu and pulihora at Simhachalam here on Saturday after the workers of the kitchen at Sri Varaha Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy temple stopped making of pulihora and laddu as the contractors had failed to pay their two months salaries.

When contacted, Rama Chandra Mohan, executive officer of Simhachalam temple, he said that kitchen contractor was changed as he was not maintaining transparency. But the old contractor went out without paying salaries to the workers, hence, they staged a protest in front of administrative office.

After learning that the kitchen employees had stopped making laddus and pulihora, the management resolved the issue; one-month salary will be paid by the old contractor and the new contractor will pay another one-month salary to the workers.

Therefore, employees resumed their work following the assurance from the temple authorities. The temple administration announced that there will be no shortage of prashadam from Sunday.
