Gaiety marked with the marvelous performance of classical dances by the students of one of the UNESCO’s International Dance Council, Nataraj Dance and Music Academy’s 18th anniversary celebrations in the city on Thursday.

Visakhapatnam: Gaiety marked with the marvelous performance of classical dances by the students of one of the UNESCO’s International Dance Council, Nataraj Dance and Music Academy’s 18th anniversary celebrations in the city on Thursday. The classical dances choreographed by Principal K V Lakshmi performed by the students not only mesmerised the art lovers but also kept them in spell-bound state during the event.

The programme was organised under the supervision of the Founder Director of cademy B Vikram Kumar and Dr Perala Bala Murali Krishna compered the show. The cultural part started with the group performance by the students of the academy on a song “Sabha Sadhulaku Ide Shubha-abhivadam” written by Nandi Awardee Rambhatla Nrusimha Sharma in Aadi Taalam and Nata Ragam.

Kuchipudi dancer Sudagaani Geeta Narayan’s both the performances had fascinated the audience. Geeta Narayan’s first and 15-minutes solo performance ‘Eka Paatraa Keli’ by on Aananda-Tandavam written by A R Joga Rao in Raagamalika Raagam and Aadi Taalam depicting the joyful mood of Siva Tandavam enthralled the audience.Another classical dancer J V S Sudha Varma’s performance as goddess Alivela Mangamma during the performance to one of Keertanas “Valapula Solapula Vasanta Vela Idi” received massive response from the audience.

Academy students Tejasri, Bhagyasree, Narayana, Sujana, Sumedha, Sanjana,Sachita, Prakhya,Amrita, Dhanya, Archana, Bhavyasri, Sannidi, Varshini, Koustubha, Sirivarshini,Subbashita,Chetana lakshmi, Roopa Gayatri also performed group dances on the occasion.
