The southwest monsoon has further advanced into most parts of Rayalaseema and south coastal Andhra. The northern limit of monsoon (NLM) passed through Kurnool, Narsapur and Machlipatnam, the Met department bulletin said on Wednesday.

Hyderabad: The southwest monsoon has further advanced into most parts of Rayalaseema and south coastal Andhra. The northern limit of monsoon (NLM) passed through Kurnool, Narsapur and Machlipatnam, the Met department bulletin said on Wednesday.
It said conditions are favorable for further advance of the SW Monsoon into some more parts of Rayalaseema, coastal Andhra Pradesh and West Central Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours.
Conditions are likely to become favorable for further advance of the monsoon into some more parts of coastal districts in the next 48 hours, with the cyclonic circulation over the northern parts of the west-central Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood between 3.1 & 4.5 km above the mean sea level lying over northern parts of Central Bay and adjoining north Bay.
A low pressure area is very likely to develop over the north Bay around June 8. In a warning to Andhra Pradesh, the bulletin said on June 7, thunderstorms with gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places in all Andhra Pradesh districts. It said on Wednesday thunderstorms with gusty winds occurred at isolated places across the State.
The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) in the State were Chintur (East Godavari), Vijayawada Airport (Krishna) 5 each, Gantyada (Vizianagaram) 3, Narsipatnam (Vishakhapatnam), Tadepalligudem and Velairpad (both in West Godavari), Nandigama (Krishna), Vepada (Vizianagaram), Ranastalam (Srikakulam), Chintapalle (Vishakhapatnam), Kukunoor (West Godavari), Macherla (Guntur) and Tanakal (Anantapur) 2 each.
