Vijayawada: Department of Physics at Maris Stella College in collaboration with Indian Association of Physics Teachers organised ‘Physics Meet 2018’ on the college premises here on Thursday.
Prof N Veeraiah of Physics department, Acharya Nagarjuma University presented the guest lecture on Advent of Quantum Mechanics.
Veeraiah said that physics provides the knowledge of nature and was concerned with the properties of matter and energy.
He said that physics generates fundamental knowledge needed for the future technological advances that would continue to drive the economic engines of the world.
He said that quantum mechanics explains about the behaviour of matter and energy at the sub-atomic scale, he explained.
Prof Adam Paul of Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Haryana spoke on ‘Enhancing Learning Skills in Physics’.
The guest lecturers were followed by various competitions like Quiz, Students Paper Presentations and Essay-Writing.
The former principal of the college Sr Kulrekha Mudartha, physics HoD Dr G Little Flower and others were present.
