AP Govt to set up 75 more BC residential schools
Minister for BC Welfare K Atchennaidu said that the government has decided to set up 75 more BC Residential Schools and 12 more colleges for Backward Class students in the district
Visakhapatnam: Minister for BC Welfare K Atchennaidu said that the government has decided to set up 75 more BC Residential Schools and 12 more colleges for Backward Class students in the district.
The BC Welfare Department is organising an expo in the city to create awareness on the working of advanced tools for the benefit of BC communities. As many as 110 advanced working tools are displayed in the expo. Atchannaidu, along with Minister for Roads and Buildings Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu, inaugurated the expo here on Friday.
He said that as part of the augmentation programme, the government decided to provide latest equipment and tools to the skilled workers and artisans. Similar exhibitions will be organised at other places in the state, he said.
``The artisans and skilled workers should get awareness on the new tools and procure the same to earn more profits from their outputs. The government is sanctioning Rs 30,000 to procure each tool. Of this amount, government provides 70 per cent and BC Finance Corporation gives 20 per cent and the beneficiary has to pay just 10 percent only,’’ Atchannaidu added.
While addressing the beneficiaries, Ayyannapatrudu said that the government identified 125 BC communities and launching various welfare schemes to them. The government, after discussing with the experts and intellectuals, launched ‘Adarana’ scheme for
the benefit of people of BC communities.
He called upon the people to get awareness in the operations of the advanced tools and also urged them to procure the tools as the government is providing 90 per cent subsidy.
Later, the ministers inspected the working tools. Visakhapatnam East MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu presided over the meeting. Collector Pravin Kumar, MLAs Bandaru Satyanarayana Murty and P Govinda Satyanarayana were also present.
