Srikakulam: The State government under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is doing business with the Central government funds, alleged BJP MLC Somu Veerraju.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, he said capital funds are example for the business of the State government. He conducted BJP leaders meeting at Srikakulam in the wake of party high command’s decision to contest in all 175 Assembly seats in coming general elections.

The MLC lamented over the TDP government’s failures in providing jobs and establishment of industries etc. Rampant corruption is prevailing in education, health and agriculture sectors as the State government was intentionally encouraging it, he charged.

The Central government has been allotting Rs 3,500 crore every year for development of education sector through Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan (SSA) but there was no qualitative change in the sector and it means corruption is rampant in the State, he said. He alleged that the government was diverting funds for its business oriented fields.

The State has allocated Rs 120 crore to apply new colours to 3,500 school buildings and one can expect misuse of funds, he said. In the name of Vanam-Manam programme, the State government was spending more funds but the results were not on par with the investment, he said.

He asked BJP village to district-level leaders to highlight these issues among people by explaining the TDP government’s corruption and business with Central funds.
