Kurnool: Burglars decamped with gold ornaments and cash from a locked house at SK Home Town Colony in Dhone in the wee hours of Thursday.

According to information, the victim Lakshmi Devi has been staying with her three daughters and a son at SK Home Town Colony. Two daughters and a son were already married and are staying at various places. The youngest daughter was also married very recently.

Lakshmi Devi, who was suffering from ill-health, was taken to Hyderabad on Wednesday night for treatment. Taking advantage of the locked house, some unknown persons have gained entry into the house and decamped with 30 tolas of gold ornaments and cash of Rs 3 lakh after breaking the almirah.

Lakshmi Devi relatives, who happened to stay adjacent, noticed that the doors were broken and immediately informed to the police and also to Laskhmi Devi in Hyderabad. Dhone Circle Inspector K Raja Gopal Naidu along with his staff reached the spot and inspected the scene of offence.

The clues and finger print experts were also pressed into service. Based on the complaint lodged by the relatives of Lakshmi Devi, a case has been registered and took up investigation, stated the Circle Inspector.
