Chukkapalli Group donates to Kerala flood victims

Vijayawada: Popular Shoe Mart donated Rs 5 lakh worth bed-sheets, towels, lungis and drugs to the flood affected people of Kerala.
Director of the Popular Group of Companies Chukkapalli Arun Kumar handed over 500 bed sheets, 500 towels, 500 lungis and medicines to the CPI State secretary, K Ramakrishna, city secretary Donepudi Sankar, CPI district secretary Akkineni Vanja, former MLC Jalli Wilson on Sunday.
Arun Kumar expressed deep concern over the loss of lives and damage caused by floods during the last 10 days.
CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna speaking on the occasion alleged that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced only Rs 500 crore aid to the flood ravaged Kerala.
He said the state suffered loss of Rs 19,500 crore and 2.5 lakh people were displaced due to the impact of floods.
He demanded that the Union government announce more assistance to the people of Kerala.
