Eluru: With the inflows into the Godavari increasing, the Superintendent of Police M Ravi Prakash warned people residing in old and dilapidated structures to vacate the places and take shelter in relief camps to avoid loss of life in the floods.

He visited Anantapalli area where flood was flowing onto Gundugolanu -Kovvuru road. He directed the officials to put ‘flood danger’ boards at places where the flood flow increased.

The SP inspected collapsed houses and requested people not to travel by bikes and other vehicles. He suggested them to travel in tractor to avoid accidents.

All the people who left their home on safety aspect should take shelter in relief camps arranged by revenue department. At Gundepalli village, the SP inspected the area where the bridge was washed away.

He instructed the officials on the measures taken to limit the damage to marooned houses. He supervised the police activities at Polavaram RMC canal which developed breach.

The SP made some suggestions to policemen to improve their service activity. He also urged people to take the help of the police and cooperate them in evacuation.
