Ongole: Teachers should get inspired from the life of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and adapt to the new methods of teaching, said Prakasam District Collector Vadarevu Vinay Chand.
He participated as chief guest at Teachers Day celebrations held at MS Function Hall here on Wednesday.
Speaking to the teachers on the occasion, the Collector said that as the students give importance to the teachers after their parents, the teachers should work with dedication and inspire the students to achieve more.
He asked those teachers working in the remote places to concentrate towards the studies of the students.
He encouraged them to adapt to new trends in teaching and use them for better results.
He appreciated the teachers for keeping district in top position in Class X results for the last two years.
Vinay Chand said that the government had sanctioned Rs 4,800 crore for providing infrastructure in the schools across state and released Rs 432 crore for construction of extra classrooms and other facilities in the schools in Prakasam district.
He announced that the tender process for the works was done and the works would be completed in two years.
He said that a sum of Rs 10.28 crore was allotted to schools in the district under Badi Runam programme and Rs 20 crore for construction of boundary walls.
He announced that Rs 30.28 crore were already allotted to construct boundaries to schools beside highways and railway tracks.
He also announced that they were also constructing sports development centers in all 12 Assembly constituencies.
The Collector presented Best Teacher Award to 190 teachers in the district.
The teachers, MLA Vithapu Balasubrahmanyam, AJC D Markandeyulu, DEO VS Subbarao, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan PO M venkateswara Rao, STEP CEO B Ravi, ZP CEO Kailash Giriswar, DIET Ongole Principal PV Seshubabu and other education department officials and teachers also participated in the Teachers Day celebrations.
