Negligence claims life of farmer in Akivvedu
Neglect on the part of electricity department officials and owner of a prawn tank in allowing live wire lay on the ground claimed the life of a person at Doddanapudi of Kalla mandal on Tuesday night
Akiveedu: Neglect on the part of electricity department officials and owner of a prawn tank in allowing live wire lay on the ground claimed the life of a person at Doddanapudi of Kalla mandal on Tuesday night.
The victim was identified as K Yesu Babu (41) who died of electrocution while trying to restore a transformer fuse.
The deceased was on the job to restore power when it went off. Though the transformer was erected recently, the electricity officials did not take measures to arrange 11-kv AC switch.
However, the officials reportedly cleared bills of the contractor who was supposed to arrange the switch.
Moreover, earth wire was allowed to lay on the ground. People alleged that the post of lineman for the village was still vacant.
The victim is survived by wife and two children.
