Anantapur: All India Students Federation (AISF) convention met here for the second day to deliberate in depth n issues and problems confronting the country and student community. As many as 560 delegates from across 21 states participated in the deliberations. AISF president Valli Ullah Khadri presided over the conference.

Addressing the delegates as the guest of honour, Minister for Rural Housing and Information Kalva Srinivasulu called upon the student community to discuss issues and challenges in depth and provide a direction to the country. He observed that everyone believed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be a man of integrity, but the Rafale deal exposed his true nature and bellied all hopes on him.

He called upon the student community to work for creating a casteless society. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is trying to bring changes in the education system but much need to be done on the front, he mentioned.

Rajya Sabha member Binoy Viswam went hammer and tongs against the Sangh Parivar and the fringe communal elements. He called for fighting these elements politically to root out the elements from the social fabric.

YSRCP legislator Vishveshwara Reddy regretted that AISF which was once strong had weakened due multiple reasons. The student organisations had weakened due to changes in the education system. Mayor Swaroopa also spoke. CPI District Secretary Jagadish said that the AISF had groomed up several youth as leaders and contributed greatly to social development.
