Cyclone Titli crossed shore at Vajrapukotturu in Srikakulam

Cyclone Titli crossed shore between Gollapadu and Pallisaradhi villages in Vajrapukotturu Mandal in Srikakulam district at 4.30 am wee hours of Thursday. As a result heavy to very heavy rainfall recorded in all coastal mandals across the district in Itchapuram, Kaviti, Kanchili, Mandasa, Sompeta, Palasa, Nandigam, Tekkali, Santhabommali, Vajrapukotturu, Polaki, Gara, Srikakulam rural, Etcherla, Laveru and Ranastalam. Heavy damage predicted for cashew gardens in Palasa, Vajrapukotturu mandals. Coconut gardens were damaged in Kaviti, Kanchili, Sompeta mandals due to high-velocity winds.

Disaster mitigation wing at collectorate is monitoring the cyclone situation round the clock. Power supply stopped in all coastal mandals across the district from Wednesday evening. After land fall of the cyclone heavy rainfall recorded in Vajrapukotturu mandal.
