Vijayawada: On the occasion of ‘Daughters Day’ and ‘Teenagers Day’, an awareness programme on empowering young girls ‘Learn to say no to some issues’ was organised for Intermediate students at Maris Stella College here on Saturday.
The chief guest Dr KVS Sai Prasad, president, IAP Krishna, Children Specialist and Adolescent Health Counselor explained about the problems that teenagers face today, teen health and wellness, dietary patterns, importance of taking more water, healthy diet with moderation which include salads, vegetables and fruits.
He suggested the students to take food with more fiber and reduce oily foods and say no to soft drinks. Break-fast was very important for a healthy life.
Students should stay away from mobiles for their concentration in studies and to avoid accidents.
To overcome stress they should do physical exercises and take healthy food, he added.
Dr Madhu, pediatrician enlightened the students about healthy diet.
