Rajamahendravaram: Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) student BSD Vishnu Vardhan bagged bronze medal in All India Interuniversity Weightlifting Competitions held recently. He won the medal in 109 category.
The university vice-chancellor Prof Murru Mutyala Naidu has sanctioned an amount of Rs 10,000 to the student and felicitated the student.
Minister for Finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, SC/ST Commission chairman Karem Shivaji, Rajanagaram MLA Pebdurthi Venkatesh, registrar Dr S Teki, Sports Board convener Dr KS Rao and others were present.
Naidu said the university students were proving their mettle in sports and games in state and national events. The university was encouraging the students in this regard, he added.
