Guntur: Hampivirupaksha Peetham seer Vidyaranya Swamy performed special pujas to Sri Dattatreya Swami and set up silver kavacham to the idol in the Sri Ganga Meenakshi Sameta Somasundara Swamy temple in Guntur on Friday.
Speaking on this occasion, Vidyaranya Swamy said many countries in the world were following Hindu devotional system and reminded that lamp lit in the house of former US president Obama’s residence in the Karthika Masam.
He said many people read Ramayana and Bharatam in the curriculum in the South Africa and Italy.
He explained the significance of Ramayana and Bharatam in foreign countries and reminded Sanskrit was also introduced in many schools in these countries. He felt the need to follow this system in our country also.
Earlier, he released a book written by Ilapavuluri Venkateswarulu on Arunachala Yogulu.
Siripurapu Sreedhar, Gurram Sainath and Hanumantha Rao donated Dattatreya Swamivari silver kireetam and kavacham.
