Vijayawada: YSRCP Nagari MLA R K Roja wondered how Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu could ask Telangana people to defeat the MLAs defected from TDP to TRS in Telangana Assembly polls when he himself encouraging defections in the state. She said the campaign of Naidu exposes his double speak on defections.

Addressing a media conference at party state office here on Sunday, Roja said Chandrababu had encouraged the YSRCP MLAs to quit their party and join TDP and even inducted four of them into Cabinet. “People of Andhra Pradesh were shocked to hear the statements of the Chief Minister in his election campaign in Telangana. TDP has 23 defected MLAs from YSRCP in its ranks, but Naidu is calling for defeat of such MLAs in TS,” she said while adding that the TDP chief was notorious for opportunistic politics and joins with any political party.

Alleging that Chandrababu had lured the YSRCP MLAs offering contract works and minister posts, she appealed to Telangana voters to defeat the TDP candidates in Assembly elections. Referring to contesting of Suhasini, daughter of Nandamuri Harikrishna, Roja said she would be made a scapegoat. “Why did not Naidu offer MLC post to Suhasini and induct her in state cabinet as he did in case of Nara Lokesh? He only shed crocodile tears after the death of Harikrishna,” she said.

The YSRCP leader said actor Nandamuri Balakrishna was taking part in election campaign in Hyderabad but had not visited his Hindupur constituency for months.
