Chittoor: In order to improve the educational standards in the Government schools, 220 part-time teachers were appointed in the district under Sarva Siksha Abhiyan scheme.

After they worked for 10 years, all of them were removed recently without substantial reason, stated STU State General Secretary Ghanta Mohan. All the terminated part-time teachers are qualified and were appointed by the District Collector.

The ousted part time teachers launched indefinite relay fast near DEO office on Tuesday in which the leaders of various Teachers’ Unions and political leaders extended their support.

Speaking on the occasion G Mohan said that there was no justice in removing the services of part-time teachers without valid grounds and their services were utilised to improve the skills of the students.
