Vijayawada: Executive Director of Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry Federation (APCCIF) Amirneni Satyanarayana, in a letter written to Union Minister of Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu on Thursday, urged him to introduce air passenger service to Dubai which has been long standing dream of people.

He recalled that the Chambers has written a number of letters during the last four years for connectivity to South East Asian countries and the Middle East.

He stated that the Chambers has also been seeking introduction international cargo service from Vijayawada airport for the last several years. Stressing on the importance of cargo services, Satyanarayana stated that AP is one of the largest food producers in the country and so far it has been exporting perishable products like flowers, fresh and processed vegetables and fruits, and dairy products to various countries through Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru.

The Airport Authority of India has to set up cargo handling facilities and to provide cold storage facility for perishable products. This kind of facility has been a long standing dream for the business people of East and West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, and Nellore districts.
