Nellore: Rajya Sabha member Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy said they had installed 70 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants in 23 mandals wherever water facility is required.
He inaugurated a plant at Challaturu village in Rapur mandal on Saturday provided under MPLADS and said this facility has to be utilised irrespective of political differences.
Though the mandal falls under Kandaleru reservoir but local people are not getting drinking water, he lamented.
The MP mentioned that water has to be diverted to Rapur tank from the reservoir for resolving the issue permanently.
Chief of Simhapuri Hospitals Ravinder Reddy said that MP Prabhakar Reddy had started Amrut Dhara programme for providing safe drinking water to the fluoride affected areas in the district.
