In the checks at various places from December 07 to 14, the DPO said that the police personnel booked cases under Section 185 (A) of MVI Act for violation of traffic rules and drunken driving against 238 people.
When presented them before the judicial court along with another 115 pending people, the judge imposed jail term and fine on 23 drivers and imposed only fine on the remaining.
The police said that they collected Rs 1,61,500 as fine from the offenders and offered counseling to them.
