Ongole: The electoral roll observer, Piyush Kumar, instructed the district electoral officers to prepare the final draft of the electoral rolls without any chance of mistakes and complaints.

He conducted a review meeting with the district officers at the Collectorate on Friday. He ordered them to prepare the draft electoral list to be published by January 4, as per the instruction of the Election Commission of India.

Piyush Kumar also instructed the EROs and AEROs to do a perfect enquiry on the applications for the changes in the electoral rolls and see each and every eligible person registered for the vote.

He ordered them to work with coordination and delete any votes only after a thorough verification. He asked them to avoid logical mistakes and address all complaints received at the call center number 7382578770.

He advised them to conduct constituency level meetings with the local politicians and seek their cooperation in preparing the electoral rolls. He also ordered the officials to see all members in the family allotted to the same polling station and assign door numbers, if they are missing.

He advised them to observe if there is any abnormality in the new voter registrations and take action accordingly. He also ordered them to provide special facilities at the polling station for the differently-abled voters.

District Collector V Vinay Chand ordered the officials to work sincerely in preparing final draft of the electoral rolls without accepting any obligations.

He ordered them to address and update the pending claims and see no discrepancies in them. He asked them to conduct household and door-to-door verification perfectly and remove bogus, death and duplicate votes.

He also advised them to scrutinise the entries done by the booth level officers.

Joint Collector S Naga Lakshmi, DRO Venkata Subbaiah, RDOs from Ongole, Markapuram, Kandukur and other officials also participated in the program.
