Srikakulam: YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy announced a welfare scheme to women as YSR Cheyutha to provide them Rs 19,000 financial aid initially if he comes to power. He reached Narasannapeta Assembly constituency headquarters as part of his ongoing Praja Sankalpa Yatra on Sunday.

Addressing a public meeting in the evening, Jaganmohan Reddy said initially Rs 75,000 would be paid to each women belonging to SC, ST, BC and Minority between 45 to 60 years of age. From the second year onwards, every year the government would pay Rs 19,000 on a certain date to the women for the remaining four years.

The YSRCP president alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s political gimmicks were aimed at for political survival of his party in Telangana state. Initially Naidu made an attempt to enter alliance with TRS in Telangana but TRS leadership refused his proposal and later he changed his colour and joined hands with Congress but ultimately people rejected their unethical political alliance by defeating them, he said.

Listing out the failure of the TDP government to fulfil party’s election assurances in Narasannapeta Assembly constituency, Jagan said modernization of Vamsadhara canals, development of tourist spots, roads, flyover. bridges, medical facilities in Agency and remote areas were neglected in the last four-and-a-half years.

The YSRCP accused the local TDP MLA of indulging in illegal sand mining from Vamsadhara river and transporting it to Visakhapatnam. He covered Komarthi, Ganduvillipeta, Satyavaram, Jammu villages on Sunday in the Narasannapeta Assembly constituency as part of the yatra.
