Visakhapatnam: The 85 and 86 combined convocation of Andhra University is organised at a grand scale at Cattamanchi Ramalinga Reddy hall in Visakhapatnam.
AP and Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan, Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, AU VC Nageswara Rao participated in the Convocation event. Delhi IIT director Prof Ramgopal Rao graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Governor ESL Narasimhan presented the honorary doctorate to Prof Ramgopal Rao. For 546 students governer awarded doctorate's, Degree to six students, and mementos to 573 students.
Speaking on the occasion governer said that, with the intention of providing quality education, institutions should work. The competitive sprite between the government and private universities is not a good sign he said.
He clarified that education, health sectors should be under government hands. The complete privatization of these sectors is not a good thing to do. Governor Narasimhan suggested improving the quality in Ph.D. education.
