The TDP registered new membership record with enrolment of 6529 lakh new members by overcoming its previous record 6442 lakh members in Andhra Pradesh alone

Vijayawada: The TDP registered new membership record with enrolment of 65.29 lakh new members by overcoming its previous record 64.42 lakh members in Andhra Pradesh alone.

The membership drive was launched by the TDP under the leadership of Minister for Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh on November 1 for a period of two years from 2018 to 2020.

Districts like Guntur, Krishna, West Godavari, Chittoor and East Godavari stood at top five places in membership drive. Similarly constituencies like Palakollu, Kuppam, Udayagiri, Atmakuru and Mylavaram are in the top five constituencies list.

TDP national general secretary and Minister Nara Lokesh took an active role in the membership drive. As many as 3,000 members’ special team worked on membership drive.

The TDP provided insurance along with membership on payment of membership fee of Rs 100. The party extended a financial assistance of Rs 14 crore from its welfare fund to 4,178 TDP workers belonging to AP and TS. Besides, 3,031 party members got Rs 60.62 crore under insurance scheme. The party has also presented silk clothes to 365 new couples.

The TDP welfare wing is paying monthly pension to several leaders and workers in both the Telugu States. Similarly, the NTR Trust established college and model school in Hyderabad, Warangal in Telangana and Challapalli in Andhra Pradesh to provide free education.

On this occasion, Nara Lokesh congratulated the party leaders and workers who worked hard for successfully completing party membership drive. He said that no party in the country except the TDP were providing insurance and other benefits to party members. The rank and file of the TDP congratulated Nara Lokesh for setting a new record in the membership drive.
