Vijayawada: The two-day Kondapalli Fort celebrations ended on Monday as several hundred visitors mostly students visited the fort and Pavitra Sangamam where cultural programmes were organised and exhibition was arranged for recreation.

The Department of Tourism organised the two-day celebrations to promote tourism in Kondapalli and Ibrahimpatnam. The organisers arranged trekking, adventurous sports and other events on Kondapalli fort and exhibition at Pavitra Sangamam.

Helicopter ride is the special attraction of the celebrations as several hundred youth joyfully enjoyed the ride. The organisers have collected Rs 2,100 for each person for the eight-minute ride. Visitors can view the fort from the sky.

On the second and final day on Monday, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu visited the fort and praised the Department of Archaeology and Museums for the renovation works of the fort particularly the Durbar hall. Krishna District Collector B Lakshmikantham and Joint Collector P Babu Rao monitored the arrangements during the two days.
