Schools, colleges to get 100% facilities from this year

Visakhapatnam: The district administration is gearing up to provide cent per cent facilities to all the students of the government schools and colleges in the district under the ‘Education is First’ programme. Collector K Bhaskar is introducing a comprehensive programme ‘Education is First’ to provide all sort of facilities at school and college level from the next academic year.
The Collector directed the officials of education, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, SC, ST and BC welfare and municipal officials to prepare plans collectively to create a good and congenial atmosphere in the educational institutions.
From the next academic year, starting day onwards all the colleges and schools will have AP Fibre Network connection and biometric attendance system in each school. The collector convened a meeting with all the heads of departments including aided institutions and directed them to complete all the necessary works in the summer holidays to gear up the schools and colleges in an attractive manner.
After noticing that still some schools have no kitchen sheds for preparation of the lunch to students, the Collector directed the SSA officials to complete the construction of sheds by March 31.
He also directed the officials to prepare indent for textbooks, notebooks and other materials and all these should be distributed by the day when the academic year starts. The collector also directed the officials to take measurements of students for uniforms and those also be presented on the first day of school opening.
