Ongole: The Prakasham district new superintendent of police Dr Koya Praveen said that it was the responsibility of the police and district administration to provide a peaceful and non-provocative atmosphere for the elections so that the voter exercises his right without any obligations.
Praveen spoke to the media at the district police office in Ongole on Monday and said that he was always a straightforward man and always goes by the rule book.
He announced that he would not tolerate rowdyism or anti-social activities and people using muscle power against others.
The new SP urged the media to let the society move one step ahead and advised them not to come to a conclusion about him without observing his work.
He said that there were no favorites for him in the district and all his actions were open for scrutiny. Everybody was equal for him, he added.
Dr Praveen, a 2009 IPS officer worked as the SP for Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam earlier before he was transferred as the director of Kakinada port.
As the Kakinada port director, he was also instrumental in the decision of the government to establish more ports, including the Ramayapatnam port, to utilize the long coastal area.
Dr Praveen was welcomed by the transferred SP Bhusarapu Satya Yesubabu at the DPO in Ongole on Monday.
