Rajamahendravaram: Former chief secretary Ajeya Kallam alleged that corruption was institutionalised in the state creating many problems for the people and stressed the need to combat it.

Participating in a meeting conducted on Save Andhra Pradesh-Save Democracy at Cherukuri Convention hall, organised by Jana Chaitanya Vedika here on Sunday, the former bureaucrat said many people got habituated to earn easy money, which is not good to the state.

He said that in the past, ministers used to be selected on the basis of experience, efficiency, honesty and background but now they were being appointed without any experience, honesty or even good profile, which was harming the state.

It is the time to elect an efficient, able and honest leaders to rule the state for overall development of the state and wellbeing of the people, he said.
Expressing alarm over state’s financial position, Ajeya Kallam said the expenditure of the government was rising though the state was passing through financial crunch.

Former Information commissioner P Vijay Babu has underlined the need to elect an efficient government in the place of existing government which shattered the dreams of the people.

Former MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar underlined the need for an honest, transparent and accountable government for the best interests of the state and criticised Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of indulging in blame game to get political mileage.

Chamber of Commerce former president Ashok Kumar Jain said the present government should be dethroned in the ensuing Assembly elections as the government tarnished the image of the state with it corrupt practices. Jana Chaitanya Vedika president Lakshma Reddy presided the programme.
