German firms to share knowledge on green building projects

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Energy Department and Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) to get financial and technical assistance from several global institutions of Germany in executing green building projects in the capital city of Amaravati through Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).
Germany-based companies have given assurance to the officials of AP State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM) on knowledge sharing and financial assistance to Andhra Pradesh during the week-long knowledge exchange programme organised on ‘Energy Efficiency Building Transformation Road map 2030- Policy and Enforcement Framework’ in Germany from February 25 to March 3.
According to information, the APSECM has explained to the participants including Germany State-owned development bank KFW, one of the largest banking groups in the world, explained about the energy saving practices being adopted by Andhra Pradesh Energy Department.
It also has given assurance to the State to explore possibilities of providing low interest loans for further scaling of energy efficiency activities in the areas of residential buildings, industry, Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), urban planning and domestic sector.
According to information from the Energy Department, the CRDA is expected to get help in accelerating energy efficiency in the building sector, which has huge potential in the State, by achieving substantial energy savings of about 50 per cent apart from effective water management, energy security, economic development and reduce carbon emissions too.
Several global agencies like Passive House Institute (PHI) headquartered in Frankfurt, which has got membership in 56 countries like the UK, the USA, China, Australia and others have shown interest in Energy efficiency activities of Amaravati capital city.
The PHI offered latest technologies wherein the State of AP can achieve 75 per cent of energy savings in building sector for which they are willing to send their team to share best practices of the world in Building Energy Efficiency with Andhra Pradesh through Bureau of Energy Efficiency.
Executives of GIZ and German companies appreciated the sustained efforts of Bureau of Energy Efficiency for promoting energy efficiency on a large scale in India particularly Amaravati which ultimately paves way for ecological and economic development of the nation.
