Jaladhara programme launched in Nellore
Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that works of Jaladhara programme has commenced in the district The programme was aimed at providing drinking water to every household in rural areas

Nellore: Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that works of Jaladhara programme has commenced in the district. The programme was aimed at providing drinking water to every household in rural areas.
The Minister laid foundation for the water grid at Baddevolu crossroads in Manubolu mandal on Saturday.
Speaking to the media, Somireddy said that the government would complete the water grid works in the next 12 months.
He stated drinking water would be provided to every household in 210 villages under 74 gram panchayats of Manubolu, Venkatachalam and Podalakur mandals at a cost of Rs 184 crore.
Works of NTR Sujala Sravanthi taken up at a cost of Rs 4.6 crore in Podalakur, he said and assured people of providing drinking water within three months.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has taken a historical decision to provide pension to the tribal population, he mentioned.
The Minister appealed to the tribal population to know about welfare programmes being implemented by the State government for their well-being.
Further, Somireddy laid foundation for development works in Jatlakonduru Gram Panchayat of Manubolu mandal. He explained that they have been laying roads by spending Rs 20 crore in Sarvepalli constituency.
Somireddy informed that Rs 1.2 crore has been sanctioned for construction of roads in Govindarajupuram and Kudithipalli under Jatlakonduru Gram Panchayat.
The Minister also alleged that YSR Congress leaders in the district have been appealing to the Election Commission to delete votes in bulk from their areas.
He explained that the Election Commission would book criminal cases against the persons, who appeal to delete votes in bulk.
Chandramohan Reddy asked the district administration to follow the EC guidelines.
