New Delhi: Yamaha Motor India Pvt. Ltd. has seen a domestic sales growth of nearly 50 percent in February 2015 as compared to 2014. Yamaha has been expanding its dealerships in tier II & III cities and the growth can be attributed to the same.

The company claims to have sold 56,960 units in February 2016 as against 37,982 units sold in February last year in the domestic market, thereby registering a domestic sales growth of nearly 50 percent.

Roy Kurian, vice president Sales and Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. Said: "This consecutive growth of 50 percent in February too, is a result of Yamaha's innovative customer contact programs and increasing reach."

In January also Yamaha provided sales figures which showed a growth of more than 49 percent, during the month, in 2016 over 2015. Focusing on network expansion, Yamaha also inaugurated new dealerships across states last month powering the increase in sales.

Since Yamaha launched the Saluto in 2015, Yamaha has been doing well in the 125cc commuter segment. The company is also seeing strong sales in gearless scooters, with the Fascino doing well.
