The CX-4 is set to be the sportiest crossover in the automaker’s comprehensive lineup. The Mazda CX-4 Crossover has been teased ahead of its world premiere at the Beijing Auto Show next month. The Japanese automaker has been consistently dishing out new crossover. The CX-4 is the latest in this seemingly never ending lineup.

Previewed by the Koeru design concept at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, the CX-4 appears to be a sportier derivative of the mid-size CX-4. We expect the car to have a footprint that is comparable to the design study. In terms of numbers, the concept was 4.6 m long, 1.9 m wide and 1.5 m tall.

The front fascia is composed of chrome grille and narrow headlamps. A long bonnet, tight fitting coupe roof and muscular haunches would give it a very unique stance on the road. Without divulging much about the production model’s whereabouts, Mazda has stated that the CX-4 will feature a full array of SKYACTIV technologies which means one can expect modern engines, gearboxes, safety suites and infotainment system. The company also hints that the Mazda CX-4 is engineered to be the sportiest member of the comprehensive CX crossover family.

More details will be unveiled at the time of the crossover’s global unveiled on April 25 (first media day at Beijing). The car have its traditional strongholds in South East Asia and Europe as target markets.
