This move indicates that Maruti is set out to compensate the early buyers of its premium crossover as a goodwill gesture.

A customer who bought the S-Cross 1.6L Alpha range-topping variant before price hike received a compensation in the form of a DD worth INR 90,000 in addition to free 2 year/20,000 km Premium Maintenance Cost Package/extended warranty. Another S-Cross customer reported that he received a free extended warranty package.

The Maruti S-Cross is available with two diesel engine options. The base engine is a 1.3-litre DDiS 200 unit which is mated to a 5-MT to generate 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque. The range-topping mill is a 1.6-litre DDiS 320 unit which is paired with a 6-MT to deliver 120 PS and 320 of torque. Both motors are sourced from Fiat.
