Featuring a futuristic design and a sportier stance, new gen Swift will be powered by a 1.0 liter BoosterJet engine mated to a 5-speed manual / CVT gearbox. The new 2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift is slated for launch in India only by June 2017.

Based on a new light-weight platform, the 2017 Maruti Swift will see reduced weight by 50-70 kgs. Leaked images reveal a host of styling modifications as well.

The lightweight architecture with an aluminum mix will also result in better fuel efficiency. The new Suzuki Swift receives aggressive air intakes, flared wheel arches and a large hexagonal front grille which were evident on the model on test, as were new headlamps, floating roof and wrap around tail lamps.

Interiors of 2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift will also see some updates and will sport a new 3 spoke steering wheel, touchscreen SmartPlay infotainment system and HVAC controls. Automatic climate control, integrated digital displays, 2 pod instrument dials and a large MID will also be evident.

For India, 2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift will be produced from the company’s Gujarat facility. This plant which will commence operations in early 2017 will first roll out the Baleno.

On launch in India, 2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift will compete against the likes of Hyundai Grand i10, Ford Figo, Nissan Micra, Tata Bolt and Fiat Punto while prices are slated to be in the INR 4.2 to INR 6.5 lakh bracket.
