The Renault Kwid 1.0L variant has been launched in India at a starting price of INR 3.83 lakhs for the RMT variant and INR 3.95 lakhs for the RMT (O) variant (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). Like the regular variant, the new more powerful Kwid benefits from very attractive pricing.

Like the existing 800 cc three-cylinder engine, the new 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol mill was developed by Renault in India. The no-frills motor which was engineered with strict cost target in mind is tuned to deliver 68 PS and 91 Nm of torque.
The motor has an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 23.01 kmpl (800 cc variant has a mileage of 25.17 kmpl). Initially, only a 5-speed manual transmission will be on offer but Renault India will introduce a 5-speed Easy-R AMT (automated manual transmission) at a later stage.
The fully loaded RXT variant gets optional driver airbag, touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and navigation, fog lamps, key less entry with central locking, champion red seat covers, power steering, front power windows, AC with heater, dual-tone dashboard, chrome accents on the dashboard, and so on. ABS is not offered even as an option.
Visually, the Renault Kwid 1.0L can be identified only by means of the chequered side rub strips and the 1.0L badge. Overall dimensions and tyre size are identical. The new Kwid 1.0L will be pitted against the Maruti Alto K10 and Hyundai Eon 1.0L.
