Vodafone invests 150 cr in AP, TS.Telecom operator Vodafone on Wednesday said it had invested over Rs 150 crore last fiscal for expansion of its network across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Hyderabad: Telecom operator Vodafone on Wednesday said it had invested over Rs 150 crore last fiscal for expansion of its network across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. During 2014-15, Vodafone added over 1,300 sites across the two Telugu states, taking the total to 9,500. It also opened over 100 brand outlets. As result, it has 282 stores, including 14 Global Stores, 28 Vodafone Stores and 240 Vodafone Mini-Stores in both the states.
“Our investments over the past year have been directed at putting in place a network that our customers can rely upon, especially in the rural belt. We remain committed to continue investing in bringing the innovative and services to win customer delight in AP and Telangana,” Rohit Tandon, Business Head – Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Vodafone India, told media here on Wednesday.According to him, Vodafone added 650,000 subscribers in the last 12 months, building a total base of 6.5 million in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Replying to a query, he said: "At present, we are in a wait and watch mode with regard to 4G roll-out. We will take a call once the pricing of 4G devices comes down from the present entry-level of Rs 9,000". On the net neutrality in India, he said the company was awaiting clarity from the central government on the issue.Net neutrality means that Internet service providers should enable access to all content and applications regardless of the source, and without favouring or blocking particular products or websites.
