The fifth edition of the One Globe: Uniting Knowledge Communities Conference to be held on the 5th and 6th of February 2016, is introducing awards to honor individuals as well as domestic and international companies for their contributions in building a 21st

The fifth edition of the One Globe: Uniting Knowledge Communities Conference to be held on the 5th and 6th of February 2016, is introducing awards to honor individuals as well as domestic and international companies for their contributions in building a 21st century knowledge economy through their initiatives in digital economy, R&D, smart cities, entrepreneurship and social impact. The awards will evaluate activities undertaken in India in the last two years (1 October 2013 – 30 September 2015), and can also be part of a longer-term strategy.
Harjiv Singh, convener of One Globe knowledge conference and CEO and founder of Salwan Media Ventures says, “The One Globe conference awards are a continuation of our vision to create a platform to debate, discuss, deliberate and recognize the excellence of organizations and individuals who are helping to build a 21st century knowledge economy across India and South Asia. It is also our way to commemorate five years of the conference by honoring excellence across five key areas - digital economy, R&D, smart cities, entrepreneurship and social impact.”
Last date for online submission of application is Friday, 15 January 2016. Applicants can participate in multiple categories. The award ceremony will take place on Friday, 5th February 2016 during the One Globe Conference at New Delhi’s iconic Imperial Hotel.
Below are the five categories for the One Globe 2016 Awards:
· One Globe Award for Excellence in Enabling a Digital Economy
For an app, website, multimedia channel or any other digital ecosystem that is helping build a knowledge economy. While it can have an offline component, the predominant focus should be on leveraging digital technologies to create impact.
· One Globe Award for Excellence in Research and Development
For R&D initiatives that can help transform India into a global manufacturing hub.
· One Globe Award For Smart Cities to build a 21st Century Knowledge Economy
For initiatives that have made Indian cities smarter by improving efficiency, quality of life, introducing citizen centric solutions etc.
· One Globe Award for Entrepreneurship to build a 21st Century Knowledge Economy
For entrepreneurial ventures that have contributed towards building a 21st century knowledge economy.
· One Globe Award For Social Impact to build a 21st Century Knowledge Economy
For social initiative by a social enterprise or organization in fields such as healthcare, skill development or any other which has contributed towards building a 21st century knowledge economy.
