With New Year around the corner, most of the celebrities have already decided on their plans to welcome 2014 with a bang. While some are a strict ‘no’ to parties and will work towards their filmi commitments on December 31 and on January 1, others have their plans in place to chill out. Hans Talkies spoke to a host of celebrities about their plans.
Mahesh Babu: “He would stay put in Hyderabad and would be shooting for ‘Aagadu’. If he gets a break, he will be spending the New Year with family. He is not known for indulging in formalities such as cake cuttings but may welcome 2014 along with his son Gautham Krishna and daughter Sitara”, says a source.
NTR: “He will be shooting be for ‘Kandireega’ director Santosh Srinivas’ ‘Joru’ (tentatively) continuously till January-end. If he gets a breather on December 31 or on January 1, he will be with his family,” says Shiva Kumar, a close associate to the star.
Samantha: The svelte actress who took time off to welcome 2013 will be rather busy with her film assignments this time around. “She couldn’t celebrate Christmas and would be the same with New Year too as she will be shooting for Suriya’s new film in Goa. However, the film’s unit is keen to celebrate the occasion by cutting a special cake,” informs a source.
Sunil: Awaiting the release of ‘Bheemavaram Bullodu’, the actor has no plans as of now but will check his time to visit Bheemavaram, his birthplace. “I might head to Bheemavaram along with my mother and wife Sruthi if time permits on New Year. I always welcomed New Year with friends and it would be no different if indeed my schedule permits,” he reveals.
Nani: Having turned producer with ‘D for Dopidi’, the actor who hasn’t taken a break this year will be off to US to usher in the New Year. “My sister has been insisting that I visit her for the past one and half year. I have made time finally. I will pack bags to board a flight to US in two days. My wife will accompany me and I will also celebrate Sankranthi there,” he says.
Lakshmi Manchu: “She already flew to US to be with her husband Andy for the New Year. She would also be celebrating Sankranthi with him. She is expected to return to Hyderabad in February”, says a source close to the actress.
Karthi: Getting the much-needed success with ‘Biriyani’, Karthi will be flying off to Canada for the New Year. “I would be participating in my buddy Yuvan Shankar Raja’s concert this New Year’s eve. I would return to Chennai after January 1,” he says.
Sundeep Kishan: With ‘Venkatadri Express’ piling on the money, actor Sundeep Kishan has every reason to celebrate though he doesn’t believe in welcoming New Year. “I would be celebrating marking my film’s successful run this New Year. It is my first solo hit,” he smiles.
Dhanya Balakrishna: The Bangalore-beauty who buzzed off to her home town after receiving accolades for her performance in the recently-released ‘Second Hand’ will be welcoming the New Year by being with her parents. “It is a delight to spend the time with family. We will head to a local temple on January 1, but I’m eagerly waiting for my mother to cook some delicious food for me,” beams the actress.
