When Chiru wanted to Kick, Race Gurram, Chiranjeevi, Kick, allu Arjun. The Mega star-turned-politician was also appreciative of director Surendar Reddy.

“I’ve seen him from close quarters and always felt that he had in him to succeed as a hero,” said Chiranjeevi, speaking about Allu Arjun at the audio launch of the latter’s upcoming film, ‘Race Gurram’, on Sunday in Hyderabad. Chiranjeevi who was the chief guest at the event unveiled the film’s audio, composed by SS Thaman.
“It’s a title that befits him,” he said adding that it was he who wanted the Allu scion to be a part of ‘Daddy’. “He had this great ability to mimic anyone with ease. Be it his grandfather Allu Ramalingaiah or Jim Carrey, he spoofed them with élan at our family gatherings.” He further added that the Allu boy’s image off screen is what impressed him the most. “A film’s results depend on directors and other factors but the way the ‘Race Gurram’ team spoke about him points out that he gives everything to a film.”
The Mega star-turned-politician was also appreciative of director Surendar Reddy. He said, “I watched ‘Kick’ some 15 days ago on TV and was mesmerized by it. Be it the way it was edited or the way it was narrated, I was mighty impressed. I would have done the lead role,” he said to a rousing reception.
Thanking uncle Chiru for making it to the do, Allu Arjun said that Tollywood directors strive to portray heroes exactly the way their fans want to see them on the screen. He is confident his fans will like watching him in ‘Race Gurram’.
"It is only in the Telugu industry, I have seen directors working extremely hard to portray star heroes the way their fans want to see them on the screen," said Arjun.
"It's their hard work that has helped actors like me to survive in the industry and continue to be loved by fans," added the actor.
Talking about the film, he said that Surendar Reddy too follows the same trend.
"Surendar is also one of the directors who knows how to portray stars on the screen. I'm sure that my fans will love the way he has portrayed me in this movie. My heartfelt gratitude to him for projecting me the way my fans would love to watch me," he added.
‘Race Gurram’, which also features Shruti Haasan, Shaam, Ravi Kishan, Prakash Raj and Saloni Aswani in important roles, is headed for a summer release. The film is being produced by Nallamalapu Bujji and Venkateswara Rao.
