Ram Gopal VarmaFilmmaker Ram Gopal Varma says the system that he adopted for ‘Ice Cream’, wherein he assured his cast and crew that the films’ revenues will be shared once it makes profits, can minimize the cost of production of a film effectively thereby ensuring that the producer is in a safe zone.

“Without spending a penny anybody can make a film if they understand and apply the policy that I’ve adopted for the film. If the film flops, the unit’s work time goes waste, but when you enjoy the work and when you are passionate about it, I don’t think it holds any great importance. Once you make a film, how to distribute it can be worked out depending on the quality of your product,” said the director, speaking at the success meet of ‘Ice Cream’ in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Stating that he will start ‘Ice Cream 2’ soon, he added that the advent of technology is such that a guy in Chirala can now easily make a film. “One should just understand the technology, that’s the most he has to do,” he advised. In a first of its kind, the success meet of the film also witnessed ‘Ice Cream’ producer T Ramasatyanarayana handing over remuneration cheques to the cast and crew of a film. Made at a budget of Rs 1.25 crore, the film minted Rs 85 lakh net for the first two days.
