With larger than life sets, Shankar manages to transport the viewers to a different world. No wonder then that his movies rake in a lot of moolah.
When Shankar made Robot, the film's Telugu dubbing rights was sold for a whopping 27 crores. That was the value of Rajinikanth with the combination of the world's beautiful woman Aishwarya Rai. Now, we know that Shankar's next is titled Ai. The dubbed version in Telugu has been titled Manoharudu. If a grapevine doing the rounds in Kollywood circles is to be believed then Ai producer Aascar Ravichandran is demanding a fortune for the Telugu dubbing rights. Lakshmi Ganapathi Films is believed to have agreed to Rs 15 crores. However, the maker wants nothing less than 20 crores!
The negotiation is on and it now remains to be seen if the deal will come through!
