It’s the festive season again and also the season when we forget how to take care of our environment. Yes, we get carried away with the festive fever so much so that we turn a blind eye on the mess our celebrations leave behind. Every year thousands of us wreak havoc on wildlife, the cleanliness of our cities and the traffic on the roads.
Popular YouTube channel East India Comedy comes up with a satire on Indian festivities
Addressing the issues caused by the relentless celebrations in our country is this hilarious parody video of Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball”. The video is an absolute in-the-face outcry for people to be civilised while celebrating festivals in spite of turning into hooligans.
One of the most prominent things of Indian festivals is the song and dance. Almost every Indian festival has those huge processions and many festivals have a DJ playing music and people doing the Junglee Dance. How can anyone forget the eve teasers? They are never in short supply. This video, created by East India Comedy, is a satire on the celebrations that happen on Indian festivals, from traffic jams to eve teasing.
In case you cannot recognise the song, we advise you to watch Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball”. It is a parody of the super hit. The video was written and directed by Sapan Verma and Sahil Shah, and was shot entirely on an iPhone 5S. The makers of the video said that the video is a satire on celebrations during Indian festival and is not meant to offend any religion or the country’s tradition. It is a sarcastic take on a certain sections of Indians taking celebrations too far at times.
