Director Indra Kumar is all set to release a family entertainer with Rekha playing the Super Nani in the film.

Indra Kumar always had Rekha in mind, "The script has been with me for the last five years. I wanted to do the film but it didn’t happen. In the mean time I did two other films and this was put on the back burner. Now I decided to do it. I narrated the story to Rekha and told her she is going to play a grand mom. She said Grand mom? Then she heard the story and she said yes. I did other films one after the other. I don’t think anyone could have portrayed this role as well as her. I always had her in Mind when I was writing the script.

On not casting Amitabh Bachchan, he says, "It’s not a love story of a Nana and Nani. If it was I would have considered casting him. The role was not strong enough for Amitji’s stature. Here the husband ill treats his wife, and it would never suit Amitji."

Highlighting the film he adds, "This film is the love story of a grandson and his grandmother. It is the story of a woman who sacrifices a lot for her husband and children but who doesn't get her dues in life. My film gives the message of respect to women especially mothers. Dabbooji was courageous to say yes to the role."

Indra Kumar could not help but wait to re launch his daughter Shweta Kumar, "Yes I wanted to launch her but before I could even do so, she got an offer from Karz producer and she said yes. I didn’t want her to do the film but she is independent and she wanted to do the film. I felt that if she has a flop to her credit she will learn. I told her that it’s a wrong decision but she wanted to do the film. But having done “Karz” now she knows that stardom is not easy."

Will people recognize her talent?

"Shweta is Aruna Irani’s pedigree and my daughter. I am sure people will recognize her talents," he signs off.
