Samantha Plays Perfect Anchor to Mahesh and Trivikram In Memu Saitam. While Mahesh Babu, Samantha and Trivikram Srinivas didn’t turn up to the Memu Saitam event on Sunday, they did ensure that their presence wasn’t felt through a prerecorded video that was featured in the 12-hour telethon extravaganza.
Both Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu are very simple in nature. Give Mahesh a small room, a pair of clothes and handful of DVDs he content with it; surround Kalyan with plants and books, he remains to himself. It’s a great trait to learn from them - Trivikram Srinivas
While Mahesh Babu, Samantha and Trivikram Srinivas didn’t turn up to the Memu Saitam event on Sunday, they did ensure that their presence wasn’t felt through a prerecorded video that was featured in the 12-hour telethon extravaganza. Surprisingly, the video featured Samantha playing a quiz master as she grilled the actor and director on various topics starting from when they will join forces again.
“Next year we will definitely team up,” said Mahesh as the writer-turned-director gave an accepting nod. When asked if she would be the heroine in the combination, Mahesh chuckled and said, “We will do a film but I’m not sure whether you would be the heroine or not.” The answer left Sam red-faced.
When Sam prodded Trivikram about Mahesh, he said that even before he took his first film as a director on to sets, he did get a nod from the actor for ‘Athadu’. “It was before ‘Okkadu’ that I met him at Padamalaya Studios and narrated him a script. After the narration, he left the place for a 10-minute break. He later came to me and said ‘we will do the film’,” he recalled and added, “The great facet about him is he trusts storytellers. I had assisted no one till then nor had I directed a film but he believed in me. I told him the same day that I had a prior commitment with Sravanthi Ravi Kishore and he was okay with it. He said we could start after I complete ‘Nuvve Nuvve’.”
He continued, “As I started ‘Nuvve Nuvve’ we barely kept in touch. And on the day we performed puja for ‘Athadu’ I had to ring him up to know whether he’s part of the film or not (Smiles). He’s someone who is superstitious about not attending muhurats.”
Samantha further asked how Trivikram managed to be good friends with both Mahesh and Pawan Kalyan when it’s difficult for her to praise one star and not the other. To this he said, “Basically both are very simple in nature. Give Mahesh a small room, a pair of clothes and handful of DVDs he content with it; surround Kalyan with plants and books, he remains to himself. It’s a great trait to learn from them.”
